My offshore career began with challenges in understanding jackups. The marine nautical education, which I had, did not cover much about offshore vessels or their operation.

To overcome this, I sought knowledge wherever I could, learning from upstanding captains and crewmembers willing to teach me.

While I was developing my own skills, I noticed what I consider the most significant occurrence in the process; the positive effect which knowledge sharing and teaching had on the crew.

Based on that notion, I decided to create a concise source of learning materials, available to everyone.
